Train journeys, weddings, or lazy Sunday afternoons - mathri always found its way into the moment. Crisp, flaky, and golden, it was the kind of snack that sat proudly in steel dabbas and came out with every round of chai.

The making of mathri was almost a ritual - dough kneaded with ajwain and atta, rolled thick, pricked carefully, and fried patiently in ghee till each piece turned perfectly crisp. That aroma filling the house was enough to gather the whole family around the kitchen.
