Description

Train journeys, weddings, or lazy Sunday afternoons - mathri always found its way into the moment. Crisp, flaky, and golden, it was the kind of snack that sat proudly in steel dabbas and came out with every round of chai.

The making of mathri was almost a ritual - dough kneaded with ajwain and atta, rolled thick, pricked carefully, and fried patiently in ghee till each piece turned perfectly crisp. That aroma filling the house was enough to gather the whole family around the kitchen.

At The 1970 Shop, we hold on to this tradition - no palm oil, no preservatives, just atta, ghee, and time-tested craft.

Because Atta Mathri isn’t just a snack - it’s the taste of train rides where strangers became friends, the comfort of festive plates, and the crunch that always belonged with chai.

Every time there is issue with the delivery partner causing frustration, and deciding not to buy from the 1970 shop just for this issue alone. Despite clear written request at the time of booking itself, it was made clear that I may be contacted before delivery. However, the delivery partner shows one day as estimated date for delivery, and brings it on the next date, no attempt is made to contact the customer. It is simply mentioned that the door is locked, and delivers after two days. It is not even clear whether the products are kept in safe places and at right temperature. When all delivery partners work on Sundays, why this particular delivery partner remains closed on Sundays. This is not one time happening but a routine incident. The company, courier company, delivery partner all remain silent without bothering to respond or resolve the problem. I would urge people not to buy from The 1970 Shop for being indifferent to the customers' grievances unless there is someone at home waiting 24x7 for 365 days to receive the items that they have booked.
