Description

Some pickles were not meant to sit quietly on the side of the plate. Amla Mirch ka Achaar was meant to wake you up. Sharp, spicy, and full of character, it was the one pickle that made even the simplest meal feel complete.

The memory always begins in the kitchen. Fresh amlas washed and chopped carefully, green chillies slit by hand, and maa tasting the masala with the tip of her finger, adjusting salt and spice without measuring anything. The aroma of spices roasting lightly, the tang of amla filling the air, and glass jars kept aside to soak slowly - this pickle was made with patience and purpose.

Every spoonful carried balance. The sourness of amla, the heat of mirch, the warmth of spices, and the oil bringing it all together. It was the kind of achaar that stayed with you long after the meal was over. A little on the side of dal chawal, tucked into parathas, or eaten quietly with a plain roti when no one was watching.

At The 1970 Shop, we follow the same old ritual. No artificial colours, no preservatives, no shortcuts. Just fresh amla, green chillies, traditional spices, and time. Made slowly, stored carefully, and allowed to mature the way achaar always has.

Because Amla Mirch ka Achaar is not just about taste. It is about maa’s jars on the shelf, sharp flavours that made food exciting, and the comfort of knowing that some recipes never need to change to feel like home.
